England and Argentina meet at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday night with a place in the World Cup final at stake.
Messi has shone at the tournament so far, grabbing 8 goals to top the goal scoring charts alongside France's Kylian Mbappe.
The legendary winger remains the focal point of everything Argentina do but as he continues to break records, Aguero spoke to Stake about how the former Barcelona star is concentrated on helping his side lift the title.
“Leo is the team's leader and he keeps surprising everyone. What Leo is doing is incredible no matter how you look at it. Just being at this semi-final stage is a huge achievement, although it doesn't surprise me.
“We all know his competitive spirit and his quality. But I'm sure what matters most to him is that the team achieves its goals, not his individual records.”
Messi and his side have scored three in each of their last four matches, racking up 17 since the start of the tournament.
Argentina look incredible as Messi continues to guide the side into the clash against England where they could book their place in the final against one of France or Spain following Tuesday’s game.
