Toldo said on Radio RAI today: "I'm really sorry about this situation. I think the only thing holding them back right now is the coach.
"(Paolo) Vanoli arrived 3-4 matchdays ago, he hasn't had time to change the situation. But I think he'll give them a boost. It's a really tough environment when you're in this situation. The fans are very attached to the team.
"I see them in a really bad way, they haven't even managed to win against a direct opponent: it can't get any worse, they have to get over their fear.
"These guys need to have more self-confidence."
