The 21-year-old full-back is set to sign from Belgian side Union Saint Gilloise following the completion of his medical with the Italian giants.
It comes following the departure of Denzel Dumfries to Real Madrid on a four-yeal-deal, and it is thought Khalaili has been brought in as his replacement.
Khalaili made 38 appearances for USG last season, scoring three times while providing five assists as new boss Christian Chivu looks to bring the defender to the San Siro.
Initially, Inter had wanted to sign Marco Palestra, but were beaten to his signature by Chelsea.
But the Nerazzurri have now gone for Khalaili, beating their Italian rivals Napoli to bring him to the club.
