Wolves were beaten 3-2 at home in the Premier League by Burnley on Sunday afternoon, leaving them rock bottom of the Premier League with two points from nine games as their winless streak continues.
Head coach Vitor Pereira had to be dragged away from the South Bank after the game as fans made their frustrations clear. He was spotted in an animated discussion with supporters and required an escort as chants of “You're getting sacked in the morning” echoed from the supporters.
Sa was also met by supporters after the game, in which he was dropped for a fourth straight match. The goalkeeper had got out of his car as he attempted to leave Molineux and had a heated exchange with supporters as per the Daily Mail who attempted to transcribe the confrontation.
'It's OK, we are just talking. They are right,' Sa said. Fans then commented on a lack of passion from the side, and Sa responded:
“Yeah, maybe, but I'm trying to give this to them. Plus, now I am on the bench.”
“Yeah, 100 per cent, the way that we conceded goals today is unacceptable.”
Later, he added: “It’s not only the players. When we lose, I go home and don’t speak to my wife. Do you know why? Because I am sad. We are playing s***."
Sa clearly respects the opinions of the supporters but cannot make an impact when he is not picked over fellow goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Wolves are desperate for a win and as results fail to improve then fans will only grow more upset as the side head for relegation this season.
