City welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night as they aim to close the gap between themselves and league leaders Arsenal, who dropped points against Wolves this week.
This is Newcastle’s fourth away match on the bounce following wins over Tottenham, Aston Villa and Qarabag, and they will make their way to Manchester where they have only won once and that was in the League Cup in 2014.
The Citizens side currently sit second in the Premier League table and five points behind Arsenal, who play against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
Manager Pep Guardiola will be without Josko Gvardiol (Calf/Shin/Heel Injury) and Max Alleyne (other) in defence as his injury crisis at the back continues.
Further up the pitch, City will miss Mateo Kovacic (Ankle/Foot Injury) and Savinho (thigh), Jeremy Doku (Calf/Shin/Heel Injury) in midfield as the likes of Phil Foden, Antoine Semenyo, Bernardo Silva and Rodri to step in and fill the gaps.
Finally, perhaps the biggest loss for the side is Erling Haaland (knee) who missed the FA Cup win over Salford with minor “niggles”.
The striker remains a doubt for this weekend, but updates should come from Guardiola on Friday afternoon in his press conference, where the media will be keep to know how the Norwegian striker is doing.
