Tottenham forward Mathys Tel has not held back on his assessment of Arsenal's style of football.

Arsenal have been criticised for their style of play this season, often relying on set pieces to win games under manager Mikel Arteta who this month said he wished his side scored more from corners.

The Gunners remain on track for an unprecedented quadruple this season as they remain in all competitions thanks to their style of play which no side has managed to adapt to.

Speaking on the Zack Nani Foot & Live podcast, Tel revealed that he does not admire Arsenal and find his North London rivals to be “boring”.

"I’ll tell you the truth, it’s not exciting; it’s boring to watch," Tel admitted. "It’s really just a clash between two teams with their own ideas. There’s less spectacle.

“There’s no Vinicius (Junior) pulling off a sombrero, dribbling past you, no Kylian (Mbappe) accelerating past you. Here, I’d say it’s more structured, maybe too much so, with clear ideas, all the set pieces, little details that can sometimes make the difference.

“But sometimes you think it might be too much. I told the assistant coach in charge of set pieces: 'Don’t put me on that marking job'. Because it’s a zoo in the box."

Arteta’s side, currently seven points clear at the top of the table look unstoppable this season as they continue to dominate from corners which have been their forte since the start of the campaign.

Arsenal have mastered set-pieces this season, scoring 16 goals from corners alone and until rule change are made or sides adapt to their tactics, they will continue to find success.
