Santos started with teammate Moises Caicedo benched after a late return from duty with Ecuador.
"It’s a big victory, so I’m really happy to be here and to play," Santos told the club's website.
"Every day I learn something from Moises, Enzo (Fernandez) and Romeo Lavia. Our team is like a family and we help each other every day, and I’m so happy to play with all of them.
"The most important thing is the three points and the away victory, and now we have to keep going, keep fighting for every game."
Santos also said, "It’s a Premier League game and we knew it was going be difficult.
"I like to get involved with the tackles, to help my team-mates, and I’m so happy with my performance today, and the performance of the team. We fought very well for the win."
