REVEALED: West Ham turned down Castellanos signing four years ago

The Argentine has played a key role in West Ham's push to escape the dropzone since arriving in January from Lazio.

However, Castellanos could've been an Irons player as early as 2022, according to the Athletic.  

The striker impressed West Ham scouts during the 2021/22 season when with New York City FC and was open to moving to London that January market.

However, it's suggested the move was blocked by Hammers co-owner David Sullivan, who refused to make any signings during that transfer window.
