Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to rule out a possible return to Barcelona.

From 2008 to 2012, Guardiola’s Barcelona's first team claimed a total of 14 trophies, including the treble and two Champions League titles. As a player, he won six La Liga titles, the 1992 European Cup and several domestic trophies.

Guardiola has very strong ties to the La Liga giants, who would welcome the Spaniard back with open arms if given the chance. Speaking to to Spanish outlet RAC1, he suggested a return is not impossible.

“I am not ruling out Barca,” he said.

“Life is about stages and right now there are surely young coaches who have the same excitement I had for them at that time,” he added.

Guardiola’s first job in the dugout was with Barcelona’s B team before he took the main job at the Camp Nou.  Since leaving Barcelona, Guardiola has gone on to manage Bayern Munich and of course Manchester City where his time may be coming to an end.

Guardiola’s 549 games managed at Man City is only second in the club’s history behind Scotsman Les McDowall and a return to Barcelona over the next few years is looking increasingly likely.
