Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush is reportedly keen to speak with new boss Enzo Maresca on his preseason return later this month.

Marmoush is part of a large group of City stars granted an extended summer break due to his run to the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout stages with Egypt.

City play three friendlies in Hong Kong and South Korea at the start of August, but Marmoush's participation will depend on his return date, but Erling Haaland is expected to miss out on the trip.

Marmoush's form dipped last season, as Pep Guardiola rotated him as a starting option, with just three Premier League goals scored compared to seven in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 27-year-old joined from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, as part of a mid-season move from the Bundesliga, after netting an eye-catching 20 goals in all coemptions in the first half of that campaign.

As per Teamtalk.com, Marmoush wants to know his place in Maresca's plans following the Italian's return to Manchester as Guardiola's successor - and he could be open to an exit if unconvinced by his role at the Etihad Stadium.

Tottenham and Newcastle United have flagged up an interest, with both clubs on the hunt for a new striker, and Marmoush is also being targeted over a possible return to Germany.

Marmoush is open to fighting for his place at City under Maresca, but he will want assurances over what's required to do just that.
