The Belgian’s commanding performance earned comparisons with the great Peter Schmeichel from the fans, although they were likely tongue in cheek.
Speaking ahead of the game with Liverpool, Amorim urged caution regarding the hype surrounding the young ‘keeper.
“He’s not Schmeichel yet,” he said.
“He’s a young guy with talent. He showed a lot of composure, and the fans liked it. But again, that is in the past; we need to prove in the next game.”
