Antonio made 323 appearances in a 10-year period at the club, scoring 83 goals, which made him the club’s leading Premier League goalscorer by some distance.
However, after a car crash in December that left him with a badly broken leg and nearly cost him his life, the club decided to release him at the end of his contract in the summer.
Now, Antonio is on the lookout for a new club and as reported by the BBC, the forward has started training with Brentford and the Bees have allowed him to stay fit by training with Keith Andrews' first team over the past week.
Antonio made his return to action for Jamaica in June as he made a slow comeback to the pitch, something many thought impossible given the injuries he sustained the crash.
He has previously been tipped to join Leeds United after their promotion to the Premier League, but now it looks like he could make his top flight return for Brentford as Andrews keeps an eye on how he progresses in training.
Reports suggest that signing Antonio on a short-term, low-wage deal could be possible and would make sense given his vast top flight experience that Brentford could benefit from.
