Speaking on Premier Sports’ Scottish Football Social Club podcast, McGinn said: “What people keep saying to me - I was home yesterday for my nephew’s birthday party - people keep saying ‘just get right for the World Cup’.
“But Aston Villa are in the highest ever position in the past few years, we’re chasing, hopefully, the later stages of the European competition.
"So I’ve got a lot of stuff to do club-wise.”
