Mateta casts doubt on Palace future after first France call

Enjoying a first call-up to the senior France squad, the centre-forward has spoken to local reporters about his situation at Selhurst Park.

Mateta said, "It is natural that any ambitious player wants to achieve that goal.

"Especially when you get on the national team and around you there are only players playing in the Champions League and winning the biggest trophies.

"When you play surrounded by the world's best players, of course you also want to reach that level."

Mateta's deal with Palace runs to 2027.
