Chelsea won 2-0, but Fulham were left furious after VAR denied them an opening goal and then gave the Blues a penalty in the second-half.
However, Maresca insists Chelsea were worth the three points: "I'm very happy. First of all, as you said, because three games, seven points, it's important. I'm very happy in general. Today I was not happy after the first-half. The reason why is because we didn't play on the ball in the way we prepared the game.
"And we were not good enough in the second ball and duels. While in the second-half I think we were very good on the ball and we were very, very good in the second ball and duels. And I think we deserve to win the game. We dominated the second half. And against this team, if you are not strong enough, you struggle."
Enzo Fernandez scored from the spot in the second-half, though appeared angry at halftime.
Maresca also said, "The answer is, he's a Club World Cup winner, he's a World Cup winner. And I think probably he's the only player in the world to win both titles. And when he's not good enough, he can recognise. And probably he was upset for that. Because in the first-half I think he was not good enough.
"Then in the second-half he was, like the rest, brilliant. So probably the reason why he was not happy is because he can see that he was not good enough. And in the second-half I think he was brilliant.
"But at the end of the game they were all dancing or celebrating the win. So Enzo was there and he was happy."
