The Belgian international’s goal against Brentford was his fourth goal in his last three games in all competitions for City as he continues to be the club’s biggest goal threat.
He now has seven goal involvements in his past six games with five goals and two assists, as many as in his previous 24.
Doku has been exceptional under manager Pep Guardiola, but he admitted after the game that he would like to adapt his game and score more easy chances much like Sterling did for several years at the side.
"There is one thing; when I look at my goals, all the goals this season, I don't see one tap-in. And when I look at, for example, Raheem Sterling, and his seasons at Man City, all the tap-ins that he scored, at least five, six, seven a season.
"When I look at my goals, it's all top goals, don't get me wrong, but I want to score also those goals where I just tap-in, second post, run in and tap-in, and it just adds more goals to my account. That's really the thing that I need to work on.
"These goals will come, they'll be there every time, but if I add easy goals, you have to be there - that's the aspect I want to work on. To not only stay on the side and do my actions and score those types of goals, but also the easy tap-ins"
After bypassing Brentford, City now sit just two points behind leaders Arsenal with only three rounds remaining in the title race. Doku will play a crucial role in the final games of the campaign as Guardiola reviews his role in the side.
