Bournemouth are closing in on a deal to sign the Liverpool forward Ben Doak who has completed his medical with the side earlier today.

Doak was left out of Liverpool’s matchday squad for the Premier League opener on Friday against the Cherries as his side triumphed in a 4-2 victory thanks to late goals from Mohamed Salah and Federico Chiesa

The Reds wanted £25m for the 19-year-old and Bournemouth had no problem in matching the figure which many have argued is cheap for such a talented winger who has not looked out of place in the first team in recent years.

He has played just 10 times for Liverpool since joining from Celtic in 2022 but has since become a cult figure with fans who have often pleaded with former manager Jurgen Klopp and now manager Arne Slot to feature him more in the side. Now, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Doak will join Bournemouth later today.

“Ben Doak has completed his medical at Bournemouth after deal done on Friday for £25m fee to Liverpool.

“Doak will sign his long term deal later today.

“#LFC will have buy back clause to keep future control on the player.”

Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, scoring three times and recording seven assists in 24 matches and has been linked with plenty of Premier League clubs and foreign sides such as FC Porto since then. However, it looks like manager Andoni Iraola has snapped up the teenager who will become the eigth player to leave the side, bringing the total raised to an incredible £216M which will only help in signing more additions for the side.
