Jota and his brother Silva were tragically died in a car crash in Spain last year after their car left the road because of a tyre blowout while overtaking another vehicle.
July 3rd marks the one-year anniversary since the tragic event which shook the footballing world as tributes poured in from all corners of the globe.
This week, more tributes have made in their memory such as Cristiano Ronaldo who put on Jota's No. 21 Portugal shirt following the final whistle against Croatia and with tears in his eyes pointed to the sky as he gathered with his teammates for a squad photo.
The Portugal squad came together, with Ronaldo pictured in the middle holding the shirt with Jota’s number on the back.
The 2016 European champions booked a last-16 spot by defeating Croatia and will continue to hold Jota close to their hearts as they progress further into the tournament.
Liverpool also unveiled a permanent memorial at Anfield for the brothers this week, a flowing heart sculpture which also included a game controller in honour of Jota’s love for FIFA which he used to stream to supporters.
The club also released a statement and stated: “He will forever be our No.20, our lad from Portugal.”
