A Liverpool supporter has been handed a Premier League-wide stadium ban after directing racist abuse at Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo during their game on Friday (August 15).

Bournemouth’s game against Liverpool at Anfield was paused after Semenyo, 25, flagged the incident up to referee Anthony Taylor.

Merseyside Police have since confirmed that A 47-year-old man from Liverpool, who was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence, has been conditionally bailed.

The conditions include a ban on attending any regulated football match in the UK, along with not going within one mile of a designated football stadium.

Semenyo went on to score a brace after receiving the abuse as Liverpool went on to win the game 4-2.
