Brentford manager Keith Andrews claimed there were plenty of positives for his team to take despite losing 3-0 to Manchester City on Saturday evening.

Playing against the Citizens involved in the title race the Bees put up an inspiring display at the Etihad Stadium but were pegged down by goals from Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush.

Speaking after the game, Andrews felt the scoreline is not a true reflection of his team’s fighting spirit.

"We're playing against a team fighting for the title, you could see that in their urgency, I liked a lot of what we did today, showed a lot of bravery, courage in how we approached the game, it needed to be a near-perfect performance to win tonight,” he said.

"The scoreline shouldn't fool anyone into thinking it was an absolute rout. I'll step back and think, I'm proud of what we produced but ultimately we lost the game.”
