As a result, rumours are swirling that England boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to give Welbeck his first international call-up since 2018 for the November international break.
Welbeck, who scored the opener in their 3-0 win over Leeds on Saturday (November 1), insists he remains focussed on continuing his fine club form amid the rumours.
"I just control what I can control - I am enjoying playing my football here at Brighton, my focus is always on Brighton and doing the best that I can,” he said.
“To get the goals is important for me and the team, and to get three points."
