Amorim has since stressed caution in the transfer window and insists he is happy with the options he currently has at his disposal.
Speaking at Soldier Field after a training session with his team (via The Athletic), Amorim said: "We need to be really careful when we sign players. If we start the season with this squad, I am happy. We are going to suffer but that feeling of bonding is really important. The spirit is positive."
The highly-regarded Portuguese coach led Man United through most of their worst-ever Premier League campaign last season, finishing all the way down in 15th.
