Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was delighted with his matchwinners after their 2-1 win against Brentford.

Jack Hinshelwood struck the winner for Brighton after Danny Welbeck's opener had been canceled out by Igor Thiago's penalty. The Brazilian had a chance for a second from the spot in injury-time, but was denied by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Vebruggen.

Hurzeler said of Hinshelwood: “Overall, it's a group full of great characters and I really enjoy working with them. I am so happy that Jack is back, I am happy that he gave us this welcome back present!

“It's better that we have more availability, more options now for us. That's what drives the competition and that's what is important for us.”

On Welbeck again scoring, the manager continued: "We have spoken a lot about Danny during the season. I always say he's like a good red wine – the older he gets, the better he gets and we are very pleased to have him in our squad as a leader, as a player, as a personality.

“It was a really good goal, and luckily the referee kept playing!”

And on Verbruggen's heroics, Hurzeler added: “I am really happy that Bart was there, that he saved this penalty. He deserves it. He has played a good season so far and this gives him another boost to his confidence.

“We are pleased that he made this development and the save today.”
