Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was left satisfied after their 2-0 win against Burnley on Saturday.

Georginio Rutter and Yasin Ayari struck the goals to move Brighton into eighth place on the Premier League table.

Hurzeler said, "It was a good game, not a great game. We controlled it, we kept a clean sheet, we created chances, we scored two goals, I think we could have scored more goals, but overall we are pleased.

"The luck won't come to you, you have to work for it and do the small bits right, in the end how he (Rutter) scored was a little bit of luck, but he deserved it because he kept pushing, he was always there, he was present in the opponents’ box, so I am pleased.

"It's one win after six without one so we have to stay humble, we have to understand that we have to build our consistency. We shouldn’t talk about Europe, we should do the basic things right and then we'll see what happens."

On more signings to follow Pascal Gross this month, he added: "The January window in general is very complicated, I always emphasise that there’s an exchange with Jason (Ayto), Mike (Cave), Tony (Bloom) and Paul (Barber) on decisions.

"You always have to analyse what you need in your squad, but in the end I am happy with the players we have here. We have a young group and some experienced players, we keep on building on the togetherness."
