The Tigers returned to England's top-flight against all odds for the first time in a decade after weathering a two-window transfer embargo and relying on signing players for free and on loan.
Sergej Jakirovic deserves immense credit for spearheading City to promotion, and attention will quickly turn to strengthening their squad ahead of a gruelling Premier League campaign.
Hull are already drawing up their list of transfer targets, and Joe Gelhardt is likely to be high up on that list.
Gelhardt has been a revelation since joining for a second loan spell from Leeds United, with his 14 goals helping City secure promotion.
Now, the 24-year-old wants to join the club permanently, having spoken about his desire to remain in East Yorkshire.
"It's a good question, isn't it? Let's see what happens over the summer, but it's pretty clear what I want to do," Gelhardt told Hull Live.
"It's amazing, it feels brilliant. To get back to the Premier League with Hull City, I love the club, I'm buzzing, I'm absolutely buzzing. It just shows what can happen in 12 months. Under the situations we had, with the embargo, we were always at a disadvantage; everybody had written us off, now we've proved everyone wrong, and now we're off to the Premier League."
The versatile forward only has a year left on his contract at Elland Road, and having become a fan favourite at the MKM Stadium, it seems likely that Hull will strike a permanent agreement very soon.
