Having won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Community Shield, Super Cup, Club World Cup, and two League Cups as Liverpool captain Henderson brings a wealth of experience to the England side.
The former Ajax star looked to have reached the end of his international career after missing out on Euro 2024 before Tuchel put his trust in him once more as he relies on him for leadership and for someone for young players to look up to.
Henderson is 35 and many believe he is past his best, this includes Heskey who spoke to Daily Star Sport with Mr Gamble about how the veteran should step aside for younger players to make their way into the side.
“Looking at Henderson, he has experience, but maybe he is blocking the way for youngsters who can be given a chance to play and make an England first team appearance.
“So it is a challenge Tuchel has to get the players to replicate their club form and as a group of players, perform with freedom and express themselves.”
England face Andorra and Serbia in upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the Sunderland born star could feature under Tuchel who sees the importance of having a leader like Henderson to push the side forward and to set an example.
