Arsenal's record goalscorer and Premier League legend, Henry is widely considered to be one of the Premier League's greatest players before hanging up his boots in 2014.
The 48-year-old bagged 228 goals in 377 appearances and lifted three FA Cups and two Premier League titles for the Gunners over the course of several years.
Henry also picked up the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with the French national team, whilst also picking up the Premier League Golden Boot a record-equalling four times.
As revealed by the BBC, he will be presented with the award at the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday night.
"Football has given me everything and I gave it my all," said Henry.
"To be recognised as part of its history with this Lifetime Achievement award and to have made my mark for the fans and my team-mates is something I'll never take for granted."
Henry joins an elite group of past recipients, including football icons George Best, Pele, David Beckham, and Kenny Dalglish.
