Everton midfielder Jack Grealish has opened up on his recovery from injury following surgery.

Grealish has spent the season on loan at Everton from Manchester City but has unfortunately been sidelined since January after suffering a serious foot injury since a 1-0 win at former club Aston Villa in January.

The England star has been wearing a protective boot on a day-to-day basis as he recovers from surgery and was spotted at a rooftop bar this week with it this week.

Grealish has made 22 appearances in all competitions for Everton this season but is unlikely to return for the final games of the season as he rests and recovers.

Speaking on his comeback, Grealish revealed how good he feels as he looks forward to the new campaign and possibly the World Cup this summer.

"I feel really good in myself now. I had a 10-week Zoom call with the surgeon, who said it couldn't be looking any better at this stage," he told BBC Sport. "So for me, it's happy days and so good to hear news like that.

"As a footballer it's always difficult being injured," he said. "I came to the Merseyside derby game and it got me a bit emotional, because its something I miss doing so much.

"I can't thank (Everton) enough for the way they've been with me since I've been injured - they've been brilliant. From the staff, to the players, to the manager.”

After being left out of Gareth Southgate's squad for Euro 2024, Grealish is unlikely to feature at the World Cup under new manager Thomas Tuchel unless there are several injuries which would then open the door for him.
