FC Porto have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Jakub Kiwior this week as the defender prepares to leave the side.

As reported by The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal have agreed to sell Kiwior this week, subject to completing their move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie who is set to join the side before the transfer window closes on Monday.

Porto reach agreement with Arsenal to sign Jakub Kiwior. Personal terms also in place for 25yo to join #FCPorto in deal worth guaranteed €25m, max €27m. Move depends on #AFC finalising acquisition of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen.”

Kiwior has been a quality back-up option behind William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence and has always been reliable under manager Mikel Arteta who seeks an upgrade in Hincapie before the window slams shut.

Arsenal's offer for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie is worth around £45M despite him having a release clause worth £52M. The Ecuadorian is superior to Kiwior when it comes to winning duels and reports suggest that Arteta would revert to a back three if he is brought in.

Porto have won their first three league games of the new season, after finishing third last term, and Kiwior would be a welcome addition by manager Francesco Farioli who is chasing down the league title.
