He was shown a yellow card for a tackle on Kyle Walker-Peters and it means he will be suspended for the weekend clash with Crystal Palace.
Dewsbury-Hall took to X afterwards, posting: "Forgive me if I’m wrong, and I might be, but some of these decisions are so hard to take. Mind boggling."
Everton boss David Moyes also stated post-match: “I think the decisions we've had at the moment (have been frustrating), but I think all the managers might be saying that at the moment.
"I mean there's been a general poor level at the moment, I thought the decision on Dewsbury-Hall was a really shabby decision.”
Elaborating on the decision, he said: “He's played really, really well. He's been a great signing and has started the season really well for us, getting goals and creating goals, and we'll miss him. I mean, it's quite ridiculous when you think of his yellow card at Anfield and now that one tonight. It's strange… As I said, it's not just me, I think most managers at the moment are probably feeling the same.”
