The clash will be at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where the club’s record stands at a concerning four wins, four draws and five losses under Moyes so far.

As he prepares to face his old side, Moyes was asked a number of questions on Carrick who featured under him in his brief stint in charge of The Red Devils

“He was a really good professional, and I think I was more impressed at the work he did at Middlesbrough. I think he did an amazing job there, and his team played really well. He’s come into the Manchester United job, in what looks like a calm manner, and gone about it very well.

On if Carrick has been in touch recently: “I spoke to Micheal in the summer, a bit about a couple of things, a player mostly, but not about anything else.

“I think Micheal has come in and done a brilliant job, I think he has freshened up the players and supporters as well.”

United are currently fourth in the league after drawing their last match 1-1 with West Ham. They are unbeaten under Carrick who will be glad to see Moyes once more this weekend as the pair reunite.
