Palace have lodged an appeal against UEFA's decision to demote them from the Europa League to the Europa Conference League. The ruling was made with Lyon also qualifying for the Europa League as John Textor held interest in both clubs. However, the American has since sold his Palace shareholding to Woody Johnson.
Speaking to Free Bets, Morrison told Tribalfootball.com: "I haven't really spoken to anyone, to be fair, but it's a bit disappointing because obviously I know these things happen. But you've seen it before where other teams have had joint ownership. I don't know the ins and outs of it, but I've seen other teams who have had that and still been allowed to play in the Europa League.
"So it's difficult. I know they've gone to appeal, so we can't really—we don't know what's going to happen with it. But yeah, it's disappointing because you win the FA Cup and you expect to go into the Europa League, not the Europa Conference. It's one of those things."
Asked if the controversy could derail Palace's season, Morrison continued: "No, I don't think it would derail. I think the players have to just concentrate and the manager has to concentrate on what they've got on the pitch coming for the first game of the season against Chelsea and the Community Shield next week against Liverpool.
"I think the players and the management control that. I think it's down to the chairman and the people above that can deal with what's happening with UEFA and the Europa League and the Europa Conference. Because that's down to them.
"It won't derail what's happening on the pitch. I think (Oliver) Glasner's good enough to be able to keep that under wraps and just concentrate on the job in hand."
