Chelsea striker João Pedro has opened up in a recent interview on a number of topics including the Premier League title and Ballon d'Or.

The Brazilian forward completed a £60m move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the summer, after spending the previous two seasons at Brighton. He has made a stunning start to life with The Blues after scoring five goals in his first five starts under manager Enzo Maresca.

The 23-year-old is a modern No.9 and certainly knows how to find the back of the net. However, in an interview with Standard Sport he admits that chasing the Premier League golden boot will be a tough feat against so many other world class talents.

“Big clubs from England have brought the top strikers from Europe this summer. It will be interesting to compete with them for the Golden Boot.”

He then moved on to winning the Premier League title, something that has eluded the side since 2016. Pedro is certainly confident but remains humble with his answer.

“It’s too early to say whether we’re going to win it or not,” he says. “But if you watch us, you’ll say we have a good chance. I agree.”

Finally, he spoke on winning the Ballon d’Or which is every player's biggest dream even if it feels slightly out of reach for Pedro who will hope winning next year’s World Cup will help his chances.

“It would be a dream one day to win the Ballon d’Or. I believe in myself. Everything is possible. Maybe it can happen.”

The Blues fended off competition from Newcastle United, who had a bid of around £50M rejected by Brighton. They look to have certainly found their man to lead the frontline this summer as manager Enzo Maresca chases down the title after a summer of splashing the cash.
