Chelsea striker Joao Pedro has predicted that Estevão will follow in the footsteps of Vinicius Junior.

Estevao became the youngest player to start a Premier League home game for Chelsea in 12 years when he featured against Fulham last weekend at just 18 years and 128 days old. The Brazilian international has certainly started to fit in with the club, who continue to give him first team chances.

The teenager was thrust into the Blues starting line-up after an injury to talisman Cole Palmer in the warm-up and summer signing Pedro has revealed that he thinks the youngster has a very bright future in an interview with Standard Sport

“Estevao is shy. It’s difficult for him to adapt. I try to push him to ask for his breakfast in English.

“Sometimes training is too long for him and he feels tired before gym. I don’t always need to do the gym, but I go with him because this is very important for him. He knows how physical the Premier League is. Me and Andrey push him.”

Estevao joined this summer from Palmeiras after already building a reputation as one of South America's most exciting young talents and Pedro believes he could become just like Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior who is widely regarded as one of the best wingers on the planet.

“He’s from the street. You can see he is natural. Tosin (Adarabioyo) said to me: ‘Joao, wow. Estevao is amazing’. Playing for Brazil and Chelsea at 18, oh my God. He’s going to be like Vinicius Jr.”

The teenager is not the only exciting addition to manager Enzo Maresca's squad, which has an average age of 24 and are chasing down the Premier League title which has evaded the club since 2016.
