Calum McFarlane will reportedly be in the manager's hot seat for Chelsea's game against Fulham on Wednesday (January 7) as talks with Liam Rosenior advance.

McFarlane, 40, was the man tasked with leading Chelsea against Pep Guardiola’s title chasing Man City on Sunday (January 3) following the sacking of Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea managed to snatch a late 1-1 draw thanks to a 94th minute goal from Enzo Fernandez, but they were in the game throughout.

According to Sky Sports, the Under-21s manager will be at the helm for the game against Fulham too.

Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior flew into London for talks on Sunday, but due to the nature of Chelsea’s relationship with the French club, won’t be announced until a replacement has been found.

The report adds that there are currently three candidates Strasbourg are talking too, with ex-Wolves boss Gary O’Neil said to be one of them.
