Newcastle are still trying to reach an agreement with Brentford to sign Wissa, who has his sights set on a move to Tyneside after unfollowing Brentford and removing all club photos from his Instagram account this week.
Now, according to talkSPORT, Brentford are still preventing Wissa from completing his move to Newcastle, despite signing Ouattara over the weekend which was reportedly stopping The Bees from letting the DR Congo international from leaving this summer.
The report states that the 28-year-old is unhappy Brentford won't now engage over a sale unless a £60M+ valuation is met as the club said they would invite a sale if they found a replacement which they have done in Ouattara.
The Sun reports however that he Burkina Faso ace is viewed as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who was sold to Manchester United and therefore Brentford have not replaced Wissa who is trapped at the club until they bring in another asset.
Brentford boss Keith Andrews admitted he still does not know what the end outcome will be for the saga which has been dragged out over the past few weeks.
"It's a day-by-day one in terms of Wiss," Andrews explained. "As far as I know, nothing else has happened today, definitely didn't yesterday, so as it was really.
"I have no idea what the situation will be, I've been up here since yesterday so we will deal with that during the week. Hopefully it can resolve itself sooner rather than later."
Wissa hasn't featured in pre-season and has been training away from the main group. He likely won’t feature again for Brentford who may be forced to sell the forward over the next few weeks which could then free up Newcastle’s Alexander Isak who is eager to join Liverpool this summer.
