New arrivals Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi struck the goals, with Ebere Eze, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera also impressive as summer additions.
Afterwards, a happy Arteta beamed: "The new ones that started, five of them today. You can sense that there are new relationships developing there. Noni I thought he was exceptional.
"I think he has such a power.
"He's very skilful very unpredictable. He's always trying things, you get one wrong, you get that with the creative players."
On Zubimendi's first goal, Arteta said: "Credit for that, incredible execution the timing. Certainly he's given us a lot of positive things."
Skipper Martin Odegaard was forced off with a shoulder injury early into the first-half and Arteta also stated: "Shoulder. Very similar, similar injury and he's played two games with Norway and unfortunately he cannot continue.
"Surgery? No, certainly not. Last time in a few days he was able to manage the pain."
