Jota and his brother, Silva, tragically passed away in a car accident in early July with the game against Palace Liverpool’s first completive one since.
The two sets of players paid tribute to the much-loved forward with the traditional minute silence, but it was cut short.
A small minority of Crystal Palace fans were heard booing during the tribute, forcing referee Chris Kavanah to blow his whistle.
When asked about the incident, Slot played down any malicious intent from the Palace fans, believing there may have been some confusion.
As reported by James Benge of CBS, Slot said after the game: "I don’t think this was planned. Maybe the fan was not aware of the minute’s silence and was happy and tried to cheer for his team, then the Palace fans tried to calm him down. I don’t think they had a bad intention."
