Rodrygo’s season is over, and his World Cup dreams are in tatters as Brazil look towards their all time top scorer Neymar for solutions.

It was confirmed this week that he had gone under the knife and this successful operation marks a reassuring first step toward his comeback to competitive football.

Speaking after surgery, Rodrygo said he feels like a new person as he aims to build fitness and recover ahead of the new campaign.

“Today begins a new story. A new Rodrygo is born”.

“I'm ready to go through this whole process and live God's blessings in my life”.

“Very grateful for every message of affection. Thank God, everything went well in the surgery!”.

The hope is that Rodrygo will be back at the start of 2027 which means he will miss the start of the new campaign as Madrid boss Alvaro Arbeloa looks towards the future.

Rodrygo made five appearances for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Brazil, managed by former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will start their campaign against Morocco on 13th June before playing Haiti and Scotland.
