Augusto recalled on the Offsiders: "I had to reinvent myself with the arrival of Luis Enrique . We got off to a bad start. I remember that, methodically, understanding the game itself, knowing what to do, how, and why, was difficult. Luis Enrique was turning us into robots, and I told him we weren't computers.

"For a team that had just avoided relegation, it was complicated. We were doing very poorly at the beginning, and I saw that we didn't understand, that everything was forced. It was on matchday 9 that the team secured a victory, followed by three draws and five defeats. But little by little, the team progressed further.

“I went to see Luis and told him, ‘Mister, we don’t understand. You’ve taken over a team that was saved from relegation, and we don’t understand. I feel like we’re thinking about what we have to do on the pitch, and yet we’re going downhill again'.

"He told me the pressure was on him. He probably won’t remember it. He told me to keep a cool head, to keep the dressing room focused, and that there would come a point where we would understand. He convinced me."
