Yamal's lashed out at the Ballon d'Or vote on Monday night after the 18 year-old finished second behind PSG star and former Barca winger Ousmane Dembele.
In response, Laporta has sought to ease the tension, stating: "His father is very passionate, but we must remember that Lamine is only 18 and all this can overwhelm him a bit.
"He would have liked to win, like Raphinha or Pedri, who is the best in his position. But Lamine manages expectations well thanks to the maturity he shows."
The president also said: "Finishing second at 18 is extraordinary. Lamine is the most talented player in the world, he has won two consecutive Kopa Trophies, something no one has ever achieved, and he is competitive, professional, and works incredibly hard in training.
"Everyone imposes expectations on him, but he faces them well."
