Barcelona players have revealed that manager Hansi Flick has introduced a huge fine for players this week.

The €40K fine is the highest ever fine introduced by a manager at the Camp Nou and will be handed to players when for being late.

Midfielder Pedri told Spanish TV: “Regarding punctuality, we have changed it a little. If you are late, you pay a fine".

Barcelona striker Ferran Torres also revealed the hefty price players will have to pay if they are caught being tardy:

"Hansi Flick has just changed the rules on arriving late. If it's match day, and you're late, you have to pay €40,000 (£34,900) fine".

Worryingly, Flick is very strict on this rule and will not take disrespect from players who turn up even a minute late as he mentioned earlier this season.

"When I say 13:30 hours, it is neither 13:29 hours nor 13:31 hours," the former Bayern Munich boss stated after a separate late incident involving Jules Kounde.

"Before the game, we have two or three meetings. It is very important that the players are there, and it is not difficult to arrive on time. It's about respect for your colleagues.

"Arriving late, even by a minute, is a lack of respect for your teammates."

Rashford has been late before

Back in January 2023, Manchester United loanee who ha starred for Barcelona this season revealed that he was late under Erik ten Haag which is a worry for the England international.

Ten Hag kept the forward among the substitutes for the fixture at Molineux when United face Wolves and lost 1-0.

"I was a little bit late for a meeting - I overslept. It's the team rules and it's a mistake that can happen.

"I'm disappointed not to play, but I understand the decision, and I'm happy that we managed to win the game anyway. I think we can draw a line under it and move on."
