Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has explained why winger Marcus Rashford hasn't played much in recent weeks.

The 28-year-old’s most recent start came in Barcelona’s 1-0 La Liga win over Athletic Club at the start of February.

Rashford didn’t even make it off the bench in their two most recent games against Sevilla and Newcastle, in which they scored a combined 12 goals.

Speaking to reporters ahead of their game against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday (March 22), Flick explained why.

“Rashford? He was suffering from some physical issues in recent days, so we were cautious in handling that and that’s why he didn’t play. He’s now ready at one hundred percent,” he said.
