City have lost six of their seven FA Cup ties under Guardiola at Wembley which may worry fans as they clash with the Saints who will be hoping to cause another upset this weekend.

Guardiola is not thinking about his future

Southampton managed goalless draw at home in the Premier League last season, followed by a narrow 1-0 defeat. Speaking first on his future as reports state that he could leave this summer, Guardiola says he is living in the present.

"No, I'm living day by day, numbers are numbers, how fine we have been is how fine we have been, who we are is who we will be."

"It is a semi final at Wembley again. We will try to win."

Rodri could return soon

As questioned turned away from his future, Guardiola gave an update on Rodri who went off during the 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

The midfielder went down clutching his groin before being substituted by Nico Gonzalez but Guardilla revealed that he could return sooner than expected.

"He's better. No, (he is not likely to play) we don't want to take the risk."

"I don't know (if he will be back for the Everton game) but we don't want to take risk, because if he's injured, and we lose him the next five games. Rodri is so important."

Rotation is key

Finally, the City boss commented on how exhausted his side are after a lengthy season which does not help players such as Rodri who are pushed to the limit physically.

"We have a game tomorrow and then eight days to recover and make the last sprint. Last five or six depending on tomorrow.

"The opponent is a question mark. Arsenal game was so demanding, it is normal. Today is the second day to recover. To the hotel. Tomorrow will be fantastic day. Many thoughts still in my mind."
