Chelsea defeat to Man City is their seventh consecutive loss at Wembley as Antoine Semenyo’s sensational 72nd minute goal sealed it for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The London club had five penalty shouts throughout the game, but referee Darren England and VAR were having none of it.
Speaking to BBC Sports after the game, Chelsea interim McFarlane claimed that Abdukodir Khusanov’s first half challenge on Jorell Hato was a “clear penalty.”
“We didn’t have the luck today. I thought it was a penalty against Jorrel, and on another day you get that. For me, it’s a clear penalty,” he said.
Moments after the final whistle, it has been reported that Xabi Alonso will become the new Chelsea manager, signing a four-year deal at the club.
