Rosenior was back at the MKM Stadium on Friday night for the first time since leaving the club almost two years ago as he secured a 4-0 win against Hull City to help Chelsea to the next round of the FA Cup.
The Englishman has guided Chelsea to eight wins from 11 games in all competitions since replacing Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge as supporters slowly warm to him and his style.
However, some, like Carragher are not impressed and believe that Rosenior may be putting on an act to try and prove that he is the man for the job.
“There is something about Liam Rosenior when you see him in the press conferences – I don’t know if it’s a bit of an act," he said on The Overlap.
“There is no doubt Graham Potter is a good coach, we saw that at Brighton & Hove Albion, and he got the job, but he never felt like the right fit at Chelsea.
“It didn’t feel like he had the personality or the strength to manage a club like that, and I am wondering if it would sort of be the same. It just doesn’t look right.”
Rosenior's side have now been rewarded with a fifth round tie against Wrexham after defeating the Tigers and next face Burnley this weekend as they attempt to jump into the top four.
All Rosenior can do it keep his side performing at the highest level and prove pundits such as Carragher wrong with success.
