Czech Republic U19 – Azerbaijan U19 6:1
The Czech team showed their confidence right from the start of the qualifying mini-tournament in Malta, where they faced Azerbaijan. Despite dominating the game, the Czechs struggled for a long time to break down the opposition’s defense. It finally gave way in the 45th minute, when Ondřej Penxa found the net.
In the second half, the Czech youngsters were much more clinical. In the 54th minute, Buffon doubled the lead, and ten minutes later, the same player added the team’s third goal. Azerbaijan briefly got back into the game in the 70th minute thanks to Shahismayil Jafarov, but their hopes were quickly dashed five minutes later when Hikmat Jabrazilzade was sent off with a red card.
The Czech side took full advantage in the closing stages, scoring three more goals. In the 83rd and 88th minutes, substitutes Daniel Švancara and Adam Sosna both got on the scoresheet. Buffon then capped off a brilliant performance by completing his hat-trick.

The son of the famous Italian goalkeeper, who made his Serie A debut for Pisa this season, once again showed his huge potential. The national team’s next challenge comes on Saturday, November 15, when they face hosts Malta at 11:00.
