Thierry Henry has said his former side are "not at the level" of Champions League final opponents Paris Saint-Germain as Arsenal enter the clash as the lesser side.
Twenty years on from their 2006 Champions League final heartbreak against Barcelona, Arsenal are searching for their first European trophy under manager Mikel Arteta.
It may be the toughest test of Arteta’s career so far as they face the current European champions PSG who have been relentless this season.
Petit spoke to BOYLE Sports, who offer the latest Champions League betting about how Arsenal may not be able to match PSG as he agrees with Henry ahead of the game.
“PSG and Bayern were the most impressive teams in the Champions League. They have a DNA of exciting football and scoring goals.
“Now PSG are in the final, we know they will be very explosive when you look at the talent they have on the pitch. I don’t think Arsenal can compete with the talent they have.
“Having said that, no one is better than Arsenal at defending, that makes them a contender for the final. It will be a different approach against PSG to the one Bayern took.
“There will be two different visions and styles on show, PSG will be dreaming of two European Cups in a row, Arsenal will have to close the door on that. Tactically they can do it, but Arsenal will be the underdogs.”
The North London club side are well and truly underdogs according to former players who cannot look past PSG’s ruthless style which no team can seem to match up against as they push towards a successive European title.
