Netflix is reportedly preparing a massive £4.3bn bid to secure Champions League broadcast rights.

According to a report from the Mirror, streaming giants Netflix, Disney, or Amazon could potentially bag exclusive first-pick global rights to one Champions League match per round from 2027.

UEFA and European clubs are projected to earn an impressive £4.3 billion per season from the forthcoming television rights deal.

Broadcasters are expected to have access to the “global first pick” option in the upcoming bidding process for UEFA’s club competition rights from 2027 to 2033.

It’s understood that introducing a global pick could increase costs for viewers, potentially dividing UK rights among more broadcasters, with TNT Sports and Amazon presently holding them.
