Karl himself is aware of the Messi comparisons, but he does not think he's anywehere near that level yet.
He told BILD, "Of course, people can compare me to Messi, many do. But I don't think you can compare me to Messi.
"Messi is at the very top level, I still have a long way to go again. Messi is my example."
Karl has played 15 matches for Bayern Munich's first team. He has three goals and two assists.
